Essendon Health and Sports Centre has been providing quality chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage care to the community for over 25 years. We have been predominately helping people around the greater Essendon area, which also includes Moonee Ponds, Niddrie, Pascoe Vale South and Brunswick West. But we are open to helping anyone from Melbourne or Victoria should they find themselves near us. Ian, our resident chiropractor treats patients that have a wide range of injuries or ailments, which include: Low Back pain, Disc pain, Scoliosis, Hip pain, Sciatica, Migraines, Sacroiliac joint pain, Neuralgia, Knee pain, Shoulder Pain and RSI. These can sometimes be debilitating for patients and can often need a great amount of work to fix. So what makes Ian such a great Chiropractor? He places a strong emphasis on identifying the underlying cause of your presenting complaint, and makes an accurate diagnosis. This requires thorough examination and testing, including orthopaedic, functional, postural and neurological testing, and in some cases may require further X-rays or referral. Physiotherapy is another area of treatment we offer our patients. Physiotherapy utilises a range of treatment techniques to help people recover from injury, return to an active lifestyle and improve quality of life. The physiotherapists at Essendon Health and Sports Centre treat a variety of soft tissue injuries such as muscle, tendon and ligament injuries as well as sports injuries. We treat people ranging from the general public, the elderly, local and elite athletes, children as well as people undergoing rehabilitation from orthopaedic surgery, workplace injuries and motor vehicle accidents. Some of the treatments we offer are massage, mobilisation, manipulation, stretching, ultrasound, dry needling, corrective taping and exercise therapy. Lastly, we also offer Myotherapy. Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal conditions, which may cause muscular dysfunction and pain thus affecting movement and mobility. Myotherapists utilise a range of treatment techniques to restore and maintain the normal integrity of the soft tissue structures (muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia). Our Myotherapist treats neck & backpain, headaches/migraines, sciatica, chronic overuse (RSI), tennis/golfers elbow, joint pain, numbness and tingling, general tightness, carpal tunnel, knee, hip & ankle pain, frozen shoulder, elbow & wrist pain We are committed to offering a pleasant, friendly and customised service for our patients, and are open late nights and Saturday's to cater for busy schedule's.
